101 uses for a wastepaper bin

We watched a Werner Herzog film called" Encounters at the End of the World" last night...in it they showed a group being trained in how to cope in a whiteout...they all had to wear wastepaper bins on their heads and try and find their way to safety with no sight and only muffled sound...apparently the bins replicate the experience. If an actual whiteout wasn't so life threatening this would have been even funnier..but seeing the bumbling around and heading off away from the camp bought home how deadly it could be.

He uses different size blobs as coding...and feels his way around the canvas.

101 Uses for a Chair

We went to see a play at the Salt Museum in London Road last night..it was a group of 6 actors from Canada ,touring as part of the Rural Touring  Network...they used minimal props and only had a chair and piece of material each, which they used very inventively... It was a play without many laughs and I must admit to getting a little distracted..so I decided to write down the various uses  of the chair and cloth as the play went on.
I also mis-heard a joke...it was meant to be "Cold enough to freeze a fart".

101 uses for a pencil

I am not sure I feel happy about this one...as I don't think you should characture a figure in a way that a group of people find offensive..especially when you know they do. NOT that I think that means anyone has the right to kill them for doing so.pencil
But this felt like a turning point, and the pencil was being used by people on the France Unity March in Paris to represent freedom of speech ... most of my uses for objects are practical, but objects can also be symbolic.
I made a copy of a "pencil flag" I had seen people carrying on the march on 11th January 2015, but I couldn't get a photo of it on screen.

101 Uses for an Orange

An old tradition of putting cloves in an orange, but one I had never tried before...it does make a lovely room fragrance. (Plastic tacky Xmas garland optional).
