101 uses for a bath

We went to a boot sale at Walnut Tree farm this morning, and finally I got to photograph a bath in a field...I have been looking at for one of these for ages (see bottom two images)..I keep seeing them in fields as I pass in car and trains.I took a photo of one as I sped past on the way back from Birmingham on Friday. (Top photo) you can just about see it..middle right.. Old baths make very good water troughs.

101 uses for a pile of paperback books

We have just arrived back from a stay at the Olive Branch in Marsden. The room was very hot and I was woken up by Archie saying "pssst mom..are you awake..its too hot in here.." at 1 in the morning..I staggered around looking for something suitable to prop open the broken sash window...and this is what I found...not bad for half asleep in a strange place. The rubbish bin was too big and I was worried if I used a cushion it might get dirty. The books were outside on the landing. I did consider stacking up a tower of sugar cubes, but that would have taken skill.

101 uses for a biro

We had a trip into Chester this morning and I popped to Abakhan to buy some cord for my new work. The ladies on the counter had made a spool holder by jamming a biro between the two counters to make their job of unspooling cord easier. They did give me a funny look when I asked if I could photograph their spool holder..but it was too good to miss.

101 uses for a wing mirror, trolley and a metal chair

Seen today on my way into MMU, under the fly over on Oxford road. The men from the "COUCH POTATO" van used their van wing mirror, a trolley and a chair to corden off their generator. I tried to take the photo without them seeing me or getting them in shot...hence the odd angles.

101 uses for a wheel rim

Michael found this postcard in an Oxfam shop in Chester. Wheel rims being used as pulleys.
I used Babel Fish to translate the paragraph on the back of the card.
"HEALTH for you or them not the same thing of course. For the pleasure or the life around d'glass or in a hospital...because to clink glasses n'the same signification for all does not have. A word contains al I'hope of very many people has cross-piece the world solidarity.
Discover this ignored face of European commission.

I know what they mean.
