We watched a Werner Herzog film called" Encounters at the End of the World" last night...in it they showed a group being trained in how to cope in a whiteout...they all had to wear wastepaper bins on their heads and try and find their way to safety with no sight and only muffled sound...apparently the bins replicate the experience. If an actual whiteout wasn't so life threatening this would have been even funnier..but seeing the bumbling around and heading off away from the camp bought home how deadly it could be.

As seen on the news yesterday 1st November. Sir Robin Knox-johnston hits the seas again in his one man yatch...and the toilet facilities on this very expensive yatch are a bucket swinging from a rope!
