Perhaps I should go out more, but I keep spotting things on the televison. This was a man who had made a bike trailer for his HUGE dog out of a barrel. The Police were partly amused but mostly horrified at the make do and mend barrel trailer with dodgy indicators and and brake lights.

Seen on the news today. two men and two boys were rescued from the sea off the Eastern coast of Australia, their boat sank and they used their cool box (known as an Esky in Australia) as a floatation device.

This book has a number of ways to use everyday household items in all manner of useful ways. I have picked out some of the best ones, so you can imagine how bad some of these are. 1955 was a time of make do and mend and I am not laughing at the ingenuity shown then..I really admire it. A time when men in their sheds could solve any problem.
